Sho Ito

Sho Ito is the Founding Director of UK's first professional architectural development studio, loohcs. Ito is an ARB registered architect in the UK and the founder of Studio ITO: Interdisciplinary Thought Operations (www.s-ito.co.uk) a design and research studio working with large scale housing developments in Cambodia, café renovations in London to private homes in Tokyo. Ito graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) having been awarded the Norman Foster + Partners Architectural Prize upon graduation. He has extensive experience and knowledge in both the academic and architectural industry, having previously worked at Stirling Prize winning offices, Rogers Stirk Harbour+Partner , dRMM (de Rike, Marsh, Morgan) and AHMM (Allford Hall Monaghan Morris) in the UK across the commercial sector.
 
In conjunction with practice, Ito is currently a First Year Studio Master and a Diploma Technical Studies tutor at the Architectural Association School of Architecture whilst also holding a position as a Bachelor of Architecture 2nd Year Studio Unit Master at both the University of Westminster and the University of Cambridge. He has been widely invited as a guest critique, given workshops and seminars at various institutions globally whilst work widely published on different platforms and publications.
 
Ito established loohcs to provide a tailored architectural education pedagogy to support prospective and currently architectural student's develop skills, grow mind sets and nurture confidence . Through Ito's personal experience as a student, practising architect and an academic that an open, secure and transparent platform to provide support and care is essential. A space for skill building and confidence development is vital whilst additional support to help levitate pressures from any formal academic programmes and/or workplaces.
